Armed Robbery in Central

Early Monday morning July 7th 2008 around 12:30 am two armed men entered an apartment in Central, South Carolina and robbed two young women who lived there. This happened in the Summit apartment complex in Central SC. The description of the two males was described to me as follows: one was around 5'9" tall around 140 pounds small build and was holding a bandanna over his face. The other was described to me as around 6'1" tall average build , wearing a red hat with white lettering, and had a very defined jaw line. Both of the robbers were black. The gunman was right handed, he cocked the slide on the gun with his left hand. The gun was described as like a glock. It had a greenish color slide. They each had on very baggy clothing. No vehicle was seen leaving after the victims got up off the floor and looked. They either were on foot or lived in the area. They must have known the girls or someone who does, because they knew where to look for money, and I believe called one of the girls by name. The central police were contacted and I hope are at least running fingerprints.
This picture of the guns may not be correct it is just similar to what I think the gun may look like after hearing the description.

The robbers took a paycheck, a money order and I think some cash and other things of value. I know both of the victims and they work hard to earn their money working 11hrs some days and on the weekends. If anyone reads this and has information about this incident please let me know. You can comment on this post if you don't mind the information being public, or you can email me at admin at usapresidentmccain.com . Replace the at with @ and do not include spaces, it is written that way to keep from getting spam. If you would like to arrange another way to communicate email what you would like me to do. You can also contact the Central Police by clicking on the central police link here. I will give anyone with information leading to the arrest or identity of the two thief's a cash reward.

Also the donate link on this blog has been placed at the top right hand corner of the page and titled Donate to Robbery Victims. If anyone would like to donate any money to help these girls I will give every penny of it to them and pay the transaction fees myself. They would never ask for help and probably will be mad at me for doing this, but sometimes everyone needs a little help. Thanks for reading.

The Confederate Flag , What does it mean?

The Confederacy had more then just one flag, but for my purposes I am talking about the "Southern Cross" which is the most known flag. The Confederate Battle Flag was carried by troops in the field. It had 13 stars to represent the eleven states of the Confederacy plus Kentucky and Missouri. The Confederate flag has been a topic of much debate and strong feelings in the past and still is today. What it means to one person may be totally different then what it means to another. Before I get to deep into this I want to make my intentions clear! I am currently taking a class about the Civil War and the topic of the Confederate Flag and its place in the present day came up. This is a picture of the Confederate Battle Flag there is no confusion about what I am talking about:

I am from the South and I am proud of where I am from. My mom's side of the family is from the North, and I am very proud of that as well. To me this flag is an outward symbol of my southern pride and rebellion. The only flag I fly in my yard is the Clemson University flag, and that's because Clemson is the best and you just have to except it. I do think the Confederate Flag should be flown at the State House, because it is a big part of South Carolina history that many Southerners gave their lives for. If the Civil war was today and Southerns where taking up arms to bring back slavery, I would have no part in it! Slavery is and was wrong no matter the color of your skin. However, slavery was not the only reason for the Civil war just the main one. The North in retrospect was as raciest as the South in the 1850 & 1860s. Colored people where not even allowed in some Northern States. Many southerners saw the Union as a tyrant invading their homes and land. If you put yourself in this situation, I believe most people will agree with me when I say I would fight to fend off invasion of my home.

So, to me this flag means I am from the Southern part of the United States of America. "We won't be pushed around," is another way it can be interpreted. I think the flag is appealing and neat looking if nothing else. On the other hand I can understand why it is sometimes seen as a hate symbol, but I don't condone its use in such a way. Groups who use this flag as a hate symbol don't deserve to fly it or any symbol. They deserve a new flag with representing the lack of brain cells and idiocy. Please comment on what you think the Flag means and why! Any comments that are trash, purposely offensive, or just plain ignorant will not be tolerated!

Noise Ordinance Law

If I could be doing anything 99 percent of the time I would want to be riding my motorcycle. I started racing motocross when I was eleven years old and have been addicted to motocross, enduro, and any other form of riding that involves me on a bike since. The sport is not an easy one to be involved in because its expensive, there is a lack of riding areas, and on top of that many people view the sport and its participants as second class. Many people see the sport only as loud and dangerous. Motocross is one of the most physical, mental, and self defining sports I have ever been involved in. I have been looking for a track to ride around the Clemson, SC area for a year now and finally found one last weekend. I arrived to be told that the police had just shut the track down because of a noise ordinance. This track is not in a city limit and the closest house to it couldn't see you peeing in the front yard. The sport requires that there be tracks or designated places to ride, just like a football team requires a stadium. People will donate money to football teams to build bigger, louder stadiums, and only complain when the home team loses. The law that governs noise in Oconee County does not even have a dB limit so therefore your blow dryer or lawn mower are in violation as I understand it. I do not think it is fair that the sport of motocross is picked on. I have a ktm 450 exc and it is street legal and tagged in the state of South Carolina. My motorcycle meets every states requirements, including California. If I understand this right this means on a state road I can ride back and fourth all day long and I am not breaking any law, but if I ride on private property with permission I am in violation of a noise ordinance. I do not know everything about this counties laws or the owner of the track, but if anyone has any advice about Oconee county sc noise ordinance laws and this situation please let me know. I have been told I can't ride public land because of environmental issues, when horses, bicycles, and hunters can use the land "with out impact." I have been forced to drive my truck two or more hours to a good riding area for the last year. I think it is time for an ORV system that works for both the rider and all others.
