This is a letter written to an representative about illegal aliens getting a tax break and then becoming legal. Its a funny letter and well written. It may be old, but it was the first I have seen of it. The following is a small portion of the letter written to this senator:

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out."

Oh don't get me started! Here in our town you get free medical, free specialized schooling (ESL), free food (food stamps), extra food if you have a baby (WIC). It is ridiculous!
They drive brand new cars, I finally figured out if the woman doesn't marry the man can work at a job, make money buy new cars, and get housing and food free.
Which is why when my son asked why we don't drive new cars I told him we actually pay for our housing, food and medical.

Kathy thanks for commenting, being from Texas you probably experience this more then I do in South Carolina. I think it is a problem our leaders need to address and stop playing politics. I have no problem with the Mexican people or any other ethnic group coming to this country, as long as they are legal. If gas prices keep going up I may have to move to Mexico so I don't have to pay taxes and can be illegal. How would Mexico like it if thousands of Americans started crossing the boarder?
